Donors looking for recipient match in CA for open donation relationship
We have three beautiful children and feel our family is complete. We live in Southern CA and have been happily married for 9 years and both have active careers. Our life is wonderful but very full and we have made the decision to donate some of our remaining frozen embryos. We would like to give them a chance at having a wonderful life. Our children are the center of our world. We hope to find a recipient family that will make any children that result from the donation the center of their world too.
We came to the decision to donate our embryos after a lot of discussion and soul searching. We’ve had our own difficult infertility journey and we found incredible joy after having our middle daughter after four very difficult own egg IVF cycles. When we decided we would like to have another child our only option was using egg donor. It was an emotional and difficult decision but once the embryos were created we loved them instantly. Our cycle was successful on the first try and our youngest daughter was born in 2015. We have been on both sides of this and feel our experience puts us in a unique position to truly understand the difficult infertility road that the recipient family may have had to travel and the tough decisions that led them to consider embryo donation/adoption.
We are looking for a recipient family that is comfortable transferring at our fertility center. They are a highly respected top national center with a great embryo donation program. There is a long wait list but our donation would be a directed donation so the recipients would bypass the wait list. The embryos we are donating are from our egg donor IVF cycle and were frozen in the summer of 2014. They are pgs normal embryos but the sex will be blinded as we are not being comfortable with them being used for sex selection. The embryos are of high grade and are either hatching or fully hatched and frozen one to a straw. We had success on the first transfer with a single embryo transfer. IPs that used our egg donor are 8/8 for success on the first transfer.
We are looking for an open donation relationship with the recipient family and understand we would need to build that relationship organically over time, starting with communication via email or phone. Ideally we would meet in person before the donation is finalized. We would like to develop an open relationship where our children and the recipient children know of each other and have the opportunity to get together occasionally as they grow up. Our ideal recipient family would live in Southern CA or within a 4 to 5 hour drive from us.
We are looking for a recipient family that is financially secure and have no concerns with covering the costs of the testing, procedures, legal fees etc. as well as able to provide a stable home/life to any resulting children. We would like to know about you, your lifestyle, what kind of life you hope to provide to future children. We are Christian and would like the recipient family to also be Christian although they don’t need to be active in their church.
We prefer that the recipient family is college educated, as education is very important to us. We are OK if the recipient family has 0 up to 2 children. We also prefer that the recipient has some previous experience with IVF so they know what to expect and have a good sense of any potential issues that may need to be overcome. Having a good fit with our family is extremely important to us. We feel this is one of the most important decisions our family will make in our lives, so we plan to take our time in finding the right family and we are very excited to start our search. Please feel free to private message me to talk further and see if we might be a good match. Best wishes xoxo
